ADULT HAND BUILDING

Explore the world of ceramics with our engaging 8-week hand building course! This program is an ideal starting point for those who are new to ceramics, allowing students to quickly build skills and create projects to be proud of. Throughout the course, you'll explore essential techniques—including pitching, coiling and slab building techniques. Each student is given a 25 lb. bag of clay with glazes and firing costs included. Enjoy the freedom of unlimited studio access daily from 7 am to 11 pm, giving you ample opportunity to practice and hone your skills at your convenience. Open to adults ages 16 and up of all experience levels, simply pick the time slot that works for you and let your creative journey begin.

ADULT SCULPTURE

In this ceramics sculpture course, students will explore handbuilding techniques including coil, slab, solid construction, and hollowing out to create expressive three-dimensional forms. Students will investigate balance, proportion, composition, carving, texture, and surface ornamentation while drawing inspiration from natural, architectural, figurative, and everyday forms. Projects will explore combining, transforming, and assembling forms into cohesive sculptures, including figurines, abstract and nature-inspired forms, and imaginative constructions. Students will be encouraged to think like sculptors—exploring creativity, developing their own ideas, and creating work that is unique to their individual interests and perspectives.
